Kirstie Stoodley
Hello! I’m Kirstie Stoodley.
I am the grade one teacher at Wheatland Crossing School. I absolutely love teaching these tiny humans and find so much joy in watching them learn and discover new things.
I am a product of the Golden Hills School Division having graduated from Central Bow Valley School in 2006. I have been teaching in the East Wheatland location since starting my career. I started teaching at Standard School and was lucky enough to become a part of the Wheatland Crossing Community. I have taught Grades 1-3 and some Jr. and Sr. High options since I started teaching in 2013. Recently I completed my Masters Degree in Educational Leadership from the University of Calgary.
I live on a farm outside of Strathmore with my husband and two girls. Our young family has started to keep us busy as our girls love to skate, ride their horses and spend time camping together as family. In my spare time I continue to volunteer with the Calgary Stampede Queens Alumni Committee where I help plan and put on events for children with special needs.
My teaching philosophy is simple, I believe education is powerful and teaching is selfless. I believe as a teacher I need to create a classroom environment that allows students to feel safe, be engaged, and have access to as many experiences as possible. I believe that all children can learn and I believe that learning occurs when teaching occurs.
I am so proud and excited to be a part of this staff and feel honored to help your children reach their full potential!
