Welcome To Wheatland Crossing - Sep 2017

Hello Friends and Family,

Welcome to another school year. The opening few days at Wheatland Crossing School have been fantastic as the students have arrived and begun to adjust to school once again. It is great to see and feel the energy that we have in our new building and look forward to starting the year in our home.

In the meantime, there are a few quick items we would like to bring to your attention. Friday morning will bring our official welcome back activities for our students. The day will start with a pancake and sausage breakfast for our students after the buses arrive. We suggest students still eat at home in the morning as it may take a while for all our classes and students to move through the lines and get to eat. After we clean up we will bring our students together and have our first assembly.

We would also like to invite you to our Meet The Teacher Night, which will be scheduled on Monday September 11th from 6:00pm to 7:00pm. We will be organized in a simple open house format where you will have an opportunity to tour the school and meet your children’s teachers. We hope to see you out.

We are also excited to announce the opening of our Coyote Kitchen. We have hired Yvonne Comstock, a local experienced food services expert to help us utilize our brand new industrial kitchen. We will have many healthy choices for our Jr/Sr High students to purchase on a daily basis including fresh wraps, soups, and daily specials. We will also be participating in a special grant program from the Alberta Government to provide free lunches for our students in grades K-6! We are thrilled at this amazing opportunity and look forward to making this happen.

Once again, we are excited to continue on our journey as Wheatland Crossing School and look forward to the many opportunities we have in front of us this year. Go Coyotes!

Yours in Learning,
Wheatland Crossing Administration Team
