Dear Parents and Students of Wheatland Crossing,
We are excited to participate in our first Terry Fox Run as a new school! We will be holding the event on the afternoon of Thursday September 22nd. We will start with an assembly at 1:10 pm explaining who Terry Fox was and his efforts to raise money for cancer research. After the assembly we will walk to the starting line of the run and begin our run around the Standard community. We hope to start the run at 1:45 and run until 2:45pm. Students will then return back to the school for a doughnut treat and the end of the school day.
This year we are asking every student to join the run by doing what Terry asked and donate one dollar. A donation box has been set up in the school office for anyone to donate. After donating your dollar please sign the poster and encourage others to join Terry’s marathon of hope as well. Community donations are more than welcome and can be donated by following the link: https://goo.gl/lbWgpN which will take you to the Terry Fox Foundation’s secure fundraising site.
Be aware of the weather and dress appropriately on September 22nd. Be prepared to participate for the full hour outside and bring clothes that will help you be comfortable with the weather conditions.
Your participation will make this a fantastic event. We hope to see you there!
